Mr David Msiza

David Msiza holds a BSc Mining Engineers degree for the University of the Witwatersrand. He joined the Department of Mineral and Energy in 1998 an inspector responsible for conducting safety audits and inspections.

He became a senior inspector in 2000 and in 2007 he became the Deputy Chief Inspector of Mines. He held this position for three years after which he assumed the role of Chief Inspector of Mines.

His role as Chief Inspector is the responsibility to execute the constitution mandate of the Department of Mineral Resources to protect an safeguard the health and safety of mine employees and communities affected by mining operations.

David Msiza has been a friend of Coalsafe for many years.
